  1. My friend’s dad was an American in that camp. He was a navigator on a B-24 shot down in 1942 on his first mission.

  2. I wonder how many folks know that he and Donald Pleasance, who played Colin the Forger, were both qualified to serve as technical advisors on that film. Jim because he’d actually been his unit’s scrounger when he was in the U.S. Army, and Pleasance because he’d spent most of WWII in a POW camp near Barth, Germany, about 5 hours’ drive from the real camp. Pleasance actually suffered a flashback the first time he saw the exterior set for the movie, due to its accuracy.

  3. Dude is very stylish for living in a prisoner or war camp. Must be Hell keeping that white turtleneck clean.

  4. My fave movie. Despite the many historical inaccuracies and American creative licence of the plot. He was one good looking dude too.

  5. Loved James’s role in this movie. One of my favourite movies. All star cast, the likes of which we will never see again.
