I feel a lot happened between 725 and 1100.
There is a Rune stone in Alexandria Minnesota believed left by Vikings when they passed through.
Too bad the names ‘Sibbe’ and ‘Tjarve have gone out of fashion while ‘Torkel’ is till around as derivations of Thorkil/Torkil/Torkild/Terkel
The St-john’s cross on top of this epitaph means they were already christianized ?
Good for Torkel! Clearly he was loved and respected. A lucky man, few will be remembered tomorrow, while his memory goes on.
