  13. Always think of Clockwork Orange. You had film noirs as a post the other day. The one I thought was the most disturbing was Blue Velvet when I saw it 30 years ago.

His films include The Killing, for United Artists in 1956, the war picture Paths of Glory (1957) and the historical epic Spartacus (1960), Lolita (1962) Dr. Strangelove (1964). 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Barry Lyndon (1975), The Shining (1980) the very famous and controversial A Clockwork Orange and his last film Eyes Wide Shut was completed shortly before his death in 1999 at the age of 70.
