Hollis Granville was a real cop who played the cop being shot in the subway car. He got his SAG card and his balls busted by fellow cops for letting the fake bad guy get the drop on him. He later worked for years in bit parts and as an Extra including on many TV Commercials where I worked with him many times. Sweet dude, passed away in 2016.

I ripped everything outta theyeh, except the rocker panels.
i saw them shooting the scene where popeye carjacks the guys car and races down stillwell avenue.
one of the great film for sure
