The one and only 70 mm direct print struck off of the 65mm original negative was used only for a press screening and never heard from again after that.
The followings prints from the I.N. were not stunning sharp, the snow scenes showed a turbulent color correction and the Aspect Ratio could nowhere make a benefit.
After “Khartoum”, “Mutiny on the Bounty” and at first “Fall of the Roman Empire” I was very disappointed.

It blew my mind that that film used all this amazing gear and talent to essentially shoot a poorly lit stage set.
