It was so marvelous , the editing to make the whole movie look like one continious take. The fantastic way the pulled it off….
That scene with the church on fire. Pretty great flick.
Effectively grips you, the bridge scene making you jump and the continuous scene working very well despite invisible joins. Roger Deakins maintains his god reputation as DOP.

One amazing recording/viewing concept equals an amazing movie. Loved it!
Overrated film I feel. The camera stuff was great no question but the story wasn’t very original, the trenches were very clean and the film had cameos from actors that didn’t really add or bring anything to the story. If you want a better representation of the trenches and World War I watch Blackadder Goes Fourth.
