  1. A piece of the Orca which was purchased after production by Lynn Murphy, a local fisherman who was looking after Robert Shaw during filming. Lynn was Shaws inspiration for the Quinnt character.
He bought the Orca after production wrapped to use as a shed but was refused planning permission, subsequently the boat was left for many years in the water. It was stripped by trophy heaters until Lynn and his wife Susan brought it in. Lynn passed a few years ago but his wife Susan is still hail and healthy and living in Martha’s Vineyard.

  2. Reading the screenplay (Not the shooting script.) this evening. All the elements of this terrifying sequence are there but slightly different. The truly heartbreaking moment, when she’s holding onto the buoy, isn’t in the screenplay. What is, and not in the film, is humped up water (Godzilla 1998) coming at her. I think its better without. That initial “hit” has never been equaled for shock value. Been awhile since I watched a film with the screenplay in my lap. I highly recommend it.

  3. Well Chrissie we’re going to tie some ropes to you connected via a couple of pulleys, and we will gently pull you back and forth, easy $100 you’ll ever make..
