Such a great flick; been lucky enough to catch it on 35mm a couple times over the years. Loved seeing the Beatles randomly play the classic zither theme on their guitars in the Get Back doc!
Great film. Against the backdrop of a fragmented war-torn city you have intrigue, love, and an interesting ethical dilemma about the consequences of trying to survive in terrible times. See it if you haven’t, see it again if you have.
Hitchcock at his best is Carol Reed.
