  1. In order to change the bulb, you could have permanentlyattached the acrylic cover to the top row of blocks with glue and then attached that to the rest of the torch with 2 inlaid diagonal magnets on both the torch and the cover

  2. Thank you for this! I made one over the weekend 🙂 I used a flickering flame LED bulb and it really pops!
Also, I added square magnets to the corners of the acrylic and then embedded nails to the top of the wood. That way the acrylic lamp is kept on by the magnets.

  3. for mounting the "light shade" at the top i was thinking maybe some thin dowels that stick up from the base and the shade can drop in and it hold it that way.

Must make… real life creeper. I promise it will be a blast to make…..

  4. Hey man, cool channel. I have a really awesome invention. I have the Autocad design also but need Josh's help along with your craftsmanship. Can you build it and help!?? It will be worth it. Send me a message if interested. It will help the world!!

  5. So yeah. I made one. Pix in the ILTMS facebook group. Thanks for the inspiration. Super fun project.

Differences: I used sweetgum because it's what I had on hand, and I used epoxy for the topper. Again, what I had on hand. I drilled matching holes in the topper and top block and used nails as dowels to mount the topper. I knocked off the corners for the channel before cutting into cubes, except on top so I could forstner out a cavity for the lamp.

If I was going to make another one, I would not bevel the cubes on the outside and instead cut grooves on the table saw after glue up. That way they'd be more uniform.
