Every one is worried about this but if Joaquin didn’t think it was good he wouldn’t be in it. I’d say that is confirmation enough for me.

I am sure Todd Phillips went to Warner Brothers and said, “How about another Joke Warny?”
Executives: mmm What?.
“What do you get when you have an original $55M movie that makes over 1B dollars in the box office? I’ll tell you what you get, you get what you f’ing deserve!!”, and then he pulled out a revolver and pointed it at the executives. As he pulled the trigger, flags came out of the barrel and it was labelled: ‘Joker 2’.
That was his pitch.
Not everything needs a sequel. Amazing movie and fitting end.
Terrible movie, overhyped melancholy garbage, too many spinoffs. This was a meme generated movie. Even Zazie Beets performance was lack luster.
If they’re going with the two jokers idea I could imagine some Persona or other Bergman influences showing up.
