Dennis weaver played the part of the fearful driver brilliantly…the part where he is in the diner looking at all the drivers boots to see if he could identify the mad truck driver is class 👍👍👍🚒🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚚🚚🚚🚚
I remember watching the on TV…..in 1971….and for years to come….they would show it….once a year……So well done….The beginning of Spielberg’s……road to Greatness (all pun intended)……Too be sure…..
Even as a kid when this came out on TV I found the premise too unbelievable. Too many obvious outs for a guy in a car trying to avoid an 18 wheeler…fun though…
This movie meticulously directed by Steven Spielberg about a furious race of heavy tanker and car. Dennis Weaver performed extremely well. Last but not the least this low budged movie compell the viewers strict to the chairs in the big movie Halls.
Two versions as well, the original TV movie and the longer theatrical cut. Watched the original version late one night on TV, only one ad break at the diner break part (perfectly timed) and it just felt a much tighter story.
Love this film
One of my favs and one Spielberg’s early successes
Great film.
Still have this on DVD. Great movie!
Great flick. Really had me on the edge of my seat at the time.
Great film right up there
Class film🎬 Spielberg’s 1st film
Awesome movie. Watched it a few days back.
One of the great comedy movies
He never saw the truck driver’s face
A classic. Dennis Weaver is excellent in this.
Excellent film, I remember watching it as a kid, scared the s@it out of me! 🚚
…and the driver was never in the diner. Superb film.
Absolutely loved this movie
That was a good movie. Watched it when I was a kid. I believe it was Steven Speilbergh’s first movie he directed.

Dennis Weaver was so great man should have been awarded over and over again for his performance.
Great film. This poster makes Dennis Weaver look like a real bad ass ( which I found amusing due to the whining he does as a few spots in the film. )
S. Spielberg’s first directing project.
Great movie! Heard it was the inspiration for jaws!
They did a cool Incredible Hulk episode based on the movie….
The sound effect used when the truck went off the cliff was the same used when Jaws went to the bottom of the Ocean..great films
I remember watching that movie in 71 , we were so scared of truck drivers for so long , the noise it made falling off that cliff

What a Great film ! Edge of the seat stuff.
Classic! A pure road movie with suspense and thrill all thrown in.
Any remake of this film would be rubbish.
Strangely marketed as “The Devil on Wheels” in Spain. Every bit as good no matter.
Brilliant film
Great film
Excellent movie, still stands up to films today…
You can’t beat me on the grade!!!!!
Great film one of my all time favourites
Early Spielberg. Brilliant. Tense.
