Gil and George had disagreements throughout Star Wars, Gil didn’t want to soft filter the photography. You’ll see in the film Obi-wan’s home interior was soft filtered and the rest of the film is not. Lucas wanted the entire film filtered. This was described in Lucas’s writings. A big profiting film like Star Wars had the same tech crew on Empire, but Gil wasnt on it.
Patrick Troughton really showing his range in this film – Dr Who fans would be hard pressed to see anything resembling their beloved Doctor here! Excellent character actor. 🙂
Did you know Gil Taylor shot the opening Israel sequence for Damien Omen 2(1978)loved the fact on one of Donner’s interviews Taylor called him, when he was shooting his next film,to say,of his discordance with it,we are of course talking about Star Wars.

The guy sitting on the bench looks like Javier Bardem…strange…
Fabulous. Is that Patrick Troughton ?
Great movie ever….
That’s gonna be warm, that close to what looks like a 5K Tungsten, and a lamp I can’t indentify.
Never looked at a Rottweiler the same way again. Or a nigh-time graveyard.
And….The 7 Knives of Megiddo was classic.
Looks like the configuration of a Fisher. Any idea what kind of dolly that is?
Man is that a huge eye light on the camera. (?)
Dick Donner was the best.
Movie scared the crap out of my brother and me when we were kids.
This is by the river in Putney London
I thought that was you for a moment, Michael … but it was only Gregory Peck. 😉
I remember working with the lovely Gil Taylor.
The only thing I remember about that film is David Warner’s demise.
Studio deuce outside. Gotta love that

The beginning of the mad wind and storm sequence…. All good stuff!
I am 43 years old and I can say that I was traumatized to this day with this movie and its terrifying music.
Love this film and I always think of The Goonies when I think of Richard Donner…but yes there is so much more to him than my 80’s love!!❤️
Anyone know where this scene was shot?

Every Fulham FC fan knows this stretch of the river. We walk along this path to get to the games.

Absolutely awesome. One of my favorite movies. “You”ll see you in hell, Mr Thorn. There we shall share out our sentence”
Just before ‘The Monster Storm’; a scene totally carried by the genius of composer Jerry Goldsmith – gotta love those musical camera assistants.
