Not such a popular name nowadays, Percival.
You can see this telescope in person! https://lowell.edu
So you see and that is all
Likely story
Many observations of Mars were conducted > ‘canal’ theory resulted
Better change the Battery 🔋
How neat! I would really like to look through one of these big telescopes! They are amazing!!! ✌🏾❤️
Sure he wasn’t looking at Uranus
In modern times we use CCD cameras. I think some company should start selling observation time on telescopes for amateurs who cannot afford to put one in their own backyard. A modest fee to access some modest-sized telescope and explore the sky from your PC or mobile phone. You might need a significant fleet of telescopes but I think you will find many willing to pay the fee.
You should check out the Cincinnati Observatory sometime. It has the oldest telescope in the country and it’s a work of art in itself. Got to look though it to see Jupiter and 4 of it’s moons, what a magical experience.
