  1. The youngest member of the Lovecraft circle. He has the heart of a small child which he keeps in his desk drawer.

  2. If you dig Mr. Bloch, don’t miss the early 70s anthology horror film “Asylum.” All Bloch, all excellent. REALLY dopey at the end, though.

  3. He wasn’t writing “Psycho” when this picture was taken. He based the story on Ed Gein (The Butcher of Plainfield) a deranged Wisconsin serial killer apprehended in 1957.

  4. Also a famous pen pal of HP Lovecraft. They paid tribute to each other by having one another murdered in their short stories.

  5. Julia von Staden Now that’s a proper work environment for an author! Room full of books, ancient typewriter and a bottle of undefined alcohol at hand. Eons away from hipster cafés with sofas and chai lattes. 😅

  6. From my hometown…Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He’s probably writing this from his apartment above a bakery on Brady Street…..
Psycho was loosely based on the Ed Gein murders that occurred in central Wisconsin in the 50’s. That’s the word on the street, anyway….
