  1. Geeta Kadam You haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about. “Night school for children” in 1877?? Come back into the real world. Do some research on what life was really like for children then

  2. Wonderful, but notice how an every day event creates a crowd because of the presence of the camera, Try it today and get the camera wrapped aroung you throat and twisted, and twisted you get the idea.

  3. I dont see why many men would feel the need to have someone clean and shine their shoes Id think most are just trying to help the kid make a buck ?

  4. Mom told me to go out on the street and shine shoes in the 60s. No supplies, no instructions on how to do it, so I never did.

  5. You all find this lovely?! The child is nicely dressed WTF! ON his knees polishing the shoes of whoever all day long!! Would you like your own child to do that?!

  6. What a crazy world we live in.
A simple picture of a shoe shine and your all arguing. It’s like most of you are trolling fb looking for something or someone to have a rant at.
    Crazy world.

  7. Nice pic..child so much decently dressed in suit..he is not shy about his job..he will live a prosperous life..many children use to go in night schools

  8. There was a shoeblack (a man dressed in uniform) outside the Cafe Royal on Regent Street up not long ago. Growing up in 60s Tangier, I remember there were a few shoe-shine boys. I didn’t see them after that, probably there was no more demand for them with new footwear. MB
