Black Swan got hit with a lot of bad press surrounding the use of doubles for the dance scenes- Arronofsky and Portman pushed hard the narrative she did “almost” everything herself with the exception of the toe work and full body shots, until Portman’s (actual ballerina) stunt double started feeling like her contributions were being minimized/ignored and began airing this grievance to the press.
That was exactly what Arronofsky deserved for claiming Black Swan was an original story “mostly inspired by Dostoyevsky’s The Double.” lol ok bro
Darren Aronofsky had bought the live action rights to Satoshi Kon’s Perfect Blue. That’s why he was able to plunder shots from it for his most famous films.
